ECHO Hosts a Productive Professional Networking Event

Washington, D.C., March 7, 2026 — Empowering Civil Societies and Humanitarian Outreach (ECHO) successfully held its first professional networking event on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Silver Spring, Maryland. The gathering brought together diverse professionals from education, healthcare, immigration, government, and non-profit sectors.

The networking session was kicked off by Mr. Henok Shishige, CEO and Founder of ECHO, who gave welcoming remarks highlighting the importance of professional networking. Mr. Henok stressed that such networking events serve as essential platforms for people from different backgrounds to connect, share experiences, and forge lasting professional relationships that go far beyond the event itself

Two speakers shared their personal and professional experiences with the participants. Their stories provided powerful insights into the challenges and successes of adapting to new environments, enriching the overall discussion and inspiring attendees to consider their own paths.

Discussions covered a wide range of community topics, including the challenges newcomers face during transitions, professional growth, career changes, and access to legal assistance. Participants also talked about navigating social services, healthcare, education, and creating networks for ongoing professional support.

The networking session concluded with closing remarks, leaving participants energized and better equipped to navigate professional and personal challenges with the support of an expanded network.

ECHO remains dedicated to hosting regular professional networking events as part of its broader mission to empower civil societies, promote humanitarian outreach, and assist individuals in creating meaningful and sustainable lives. Future events will continue to address the practical, professional, and social needs of ECHO’s expanding community.
